Surfs up in Kona

Our fearless founder flew over to Kona last week to check in with some of our Desteenation member businesses and possibly scope out a few locations for a new store in Kailua. Next thing we know, he’s got a lease, a work crew and a build-out in full swing. Not to mention tons of new t-shirts coming our way. He’s been on the sign up trail loading up enough cool t-shirts to cover the walls of the new store.

The response from the local community has been astounding. When he signed up places before our website launched two years ago, selling real shirts from real places was a such a new concept that it sometimes took a while to explain how our process worked. Now, people are bending over backwards to sign up. It’s exciting. Everyone really gets what we’re trying to do here–promote local businesses, and they’re psyched to have their t-shirts included.

What are all these cool authentic t-shirts?

The Destee-Nation Shirt Co. Expedition is on a perpetual road trip seeking vintage t-shirts from locally-owned and operated businesses. With our trusty Nikons in hand, we capture images from these places to accompany the written story that is displayed with all of our t-shirts.
