The tones of Reverend Gary Davis mingle with the sights of Swedish shrapnel from the last century as one walks through Ballard’s X-Ray Automotive finding owner Matt Pollitz underneath an aging and rustic Volvo hard at work preserving another Nordic antiquity from the ravages of time and Seattle weather. Matt refuses to work on any Volvo after 1975: the year the 240 was introduced onto the hapless United States market. His niche may be narrow but his experience is vast making X-Ray Auto the only destination for an owner of a vintage Volvo in Seattle and perhaps the nation.
