When sugar cane plantations ruled supreme on the Honokua Coast in the '40s, the cane companies opened small stores along the highway to supply their workers. Eventually, the plantations sold the stores to the families who managed them, and this one's been in the original family ever since. When Earl took over from his father in the 60s, he added a take-out window and a snack shop, and now with his son Miles at the helm, this roadside store and eatery even provides a delivery service. Although the sugar cane industry is long gone, family-owned landmarks like this one keep that rich history alive. So, the next time you're passing by, stop in at Earl's for one of their famous bento boxes and have yourself a picnic out front. You won't regret it!
