Earl's Paauilo Store T-Shirt
During the sugar cane plantation era of the 1940s on the Honokua Coast of Hawaii, the cane companies opened small stores along the highway to supply their workers. Eventually, they sold the stores to the families who managed them, and this one has been in the original family ever since. When Earl took over from his father in the 60s, he added a take-out window and a snack shop, and now with his son Miles at the helm, this roadside store and eatery even offers delivery. Although the cane industry is long gone, family-owned shops like this one keep that rich history alive and well.
