As the gateway to the quaint little town of Honokaa on the main road from Kona to Hilo, this island institution has been serving up the best ono grinds for miles since the late 60s. Known for their piping hot malasadas, a dense Portuguese donut, visitors can watch the bakers slave over these tasty treats through a giant kitchen window. It's a serious production as they serve up over 60,000 a month! The Drive-In is also home to a gift shop where you can pick up some of their jams, sauces and, naturally, malasada mix. Also, due to its location along the coast, an island Visitor Center sits next door and makes a great place to learn more about the Big Island while you rest after a big tasty meal.
